- On Saturday, April 16th 2005 the powerful 4.70 index Top 8
DoorSlammers made their way into the legendary Dunn-Benson Dragstrip.
Early in the day the winds were very high but by the time racing was
underway it had calmed down enough to allow for some great side-by-side
Top 8 action! |

Matt Hicks took the
qualifying pole with a nice 4.712 which was closer to the 4.70 index
than any other competitor.
Kelly Martin (pictured above), son of the legendary racer, Michael
Martin took the event win taking out Stan Bailey in the final round. As
always the Top 8 DoorSlammers displayed wonderful racing and a great
show for all spectators. The next Top 8 race takes place on Saturday,
April 23rd and Jefferson-Pageland Dragway! |
